GES Inter Regional Reposting Guide for Teachers

The GES inter regional reposting process allows room for teachers withing the GES to apply for reposting to different regions within the country. Below are the new inter regional reposting process outlined by the management of the Ghana Education Service.

Steps to Apply for GES Inter Regional Reposting

Below is a step by step guide to help you apply for the GES inter regional reposting procees.

  • Step 1
    An Applicant seeks for an Assurance from their Region of choice through their Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
  • Step 2
    After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for Release from his/her current Metro/Municipal/District Education Office.
    The Metro/Municipal/District Director writes a covering letter, after the applicant has completed an inter-regional transfer form and attached all necessary documents (Eg. Current Payslip, Assurance
    Letter, Cetificates, Bank Clearance, etc).
  • Step 3
    The MetroMunicipal/District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office for onward submission to the Director-General for final approval.
  • Step 4
    After the Director-General’s approval is given, the Regional Director issues a release letter to the applicant to complete the reposting process.

Please Note:  A teacher seeking Inter-Regional reposting can only bereleased by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.

Deadline for GES Inter Regional Reposting Process

Personnels are reminded that the issuance of Assurance letters would end on the 30th September 2022.

When will GES Inter Regional Application be processed?

The processing of applications to the Headquarters will also begin in September 2022 and take effect from the beginning of the next academic year(January 2023).

Kindly take note: The duration of the exercise will be not be extended thereafter.

This new directive supersedes the earlier guidelines communicated.
